Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet vulnerable characters, is one of the most well-known American actors of today. Her father was a renowned playwright, but she was raised as an all-only child by a single mom who was a nurse. Through the summer months and with her father Linney discovered a love for theater. Her first stage experience was initially at Brown University then at Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career soon after completing her degree in the year 2000, before making her debut on television the following year. Innumerable appearances in movies, television shows and stage productions since then. She received many accolades during her professional career, such as four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Although she received many awards over the years, theater is always her main passion.
