A baby was strapped to my back while one crawled inside the playground. I spent 12 hours days for months sanding and removing wallpaper, while carrying one kid. Ha! It was all falling into place, but we were nowhere near done. To complete this task, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of time and money searching for the perfect home. To stay the cost within my means I took my sons with me to look for gems hidden in estate sales. Every week, we would walk through estate and garage sales on Saturdays and Thursdays, purchasing a mix of antique and brand new furniture. My next task was to spend the rest of my time painting and sanding on our front lawn. It was kind of similar to the following... This is where my obsession with in the process of restoring old furniture got started. Even after our house was fully furnished, I could not put it down! The local market had space to let me sell my pieces. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space I had available was no longer adequate. The number of people who visited my home over the course of a weekend, to shop for all the things on the ground. That's how my company Growing Days was born. My company was flourishing however my family was growing too. In a way, I found the ideal equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new venture. Growing Days just fit. Nora joined us in 2013 to be our fourth baby. My business's direction was excellent, however I was forced to take some time off. I got away from vintage furniture to spend some quality time with my family. This was just the thing I needed. After a few months that the phones started to ring. I was getting calls from people needing help with their interior decorating and home remodeling. It was mostly those who came to my open residence to buy furniture. While I was working I added new customers to my client list each day. However, it didn't take long before I had multiple clients and ran a successful home remodeling business. When you first spoke to me about your home remodeling business I laughed. It's hilarious to look back to it.
